The iCub is the humanoid robot developed at IIT as part of the EU project RobotCub and subsequently adopted by more than 20 laboratories worldwide.
Capabilities:
+ crawling, using visual guidance with optic marker on the floor
+ solving complex 3D mazes
+ archery, shooting arrows with a bow and learning to hit the center of the target
+ facial expressions, allowing the iCub to express emotions
+ force control, exploiting proximal force/torque sensors
+ grasping small objects, such as balls, plastic bottles, etc.

Technology gets disabled people back on their feet:
TWIICE is a modular lower limb exoskeleton developed by the Laboratoire de Systèmes Robotiques (LSRO) at EPFL. Through its adaptability to different morphologies, pathologies and user experiences, TWIICE intends to give back independence to paraplegics in daily activities.
Every disability is unique:
+ modular and customizable device
+ weight 15 kilos
+ battery enabling 3 hours of active walking
+ designed to handle different pathologies, morphologies and user experiences
+ special emphasis on simplicity, robustness, reliability and lightness
The Laboratoire de Systèmes Robotiques (LSRO) led by Prof. H. Bleuler and Prof. F. Mondada is part of the "Institute of Microengineering (IMT)" and is located in Lausanne, Switzerland. http://twiice.ch/
