A cool idea for smart cities: One "CityTree" filters the city air as much as 275 trees.

Green City Solutions is a biotech and IoT startup leading the way in the business of air pollution reduction. The company has developed a freestanding solution, called “CityTree”, which features a moss culture that naturally absorbs the pollution that occurs in urban environments. Each “CityTree”can reduce air pollution within a radius of 50 meters by 30 per cent.

The natural capability of special moss cultures to filter:

+ fine dust, nitrogen oxides, CO2
+ technologies are patent pending or patented

Each unit is as effective in combating air pollution as 275 regular planted urban trees at 5 % of the cost and requires 99 % less space.

To ensure the profitability of the "CityTree", implementation of visual and digital information on the vertical plant display for marketing campaigns is possible. Analogue information can be displayed as simple writing or logo, but also with the help of plants in a variety of different colors. Our system enables access to digital content by implementing technologies such as a QR-Code, iBeacon, NFC or digital screens. This makes it possible to use the CityTree for out of home media advertising as well as mobile commerce purposes. Integrated benches and the offer of additional services, such as Wi-Fi hotspot or e-bike charging stations extend the functionality of the CityTree.
